Emory Andrew Tate III is a British-American former professional kickboxer and entrepreneur. He was born in Washington, D.C. on 1 December 1986 and raised between the American Midwest and a council estate in Luton, England. Fighting as King Cobra, he won four kickboxing world titles between 2011 and 2014.
He retired from the sport in 2016 with a professional record of 76 wins, 9 losses and 1 draw, 32 of those wins by knockout. He has lived in Romania since 2017, where he built his business career, and was the most Googled man on the planet in 2022.

Andrew Tate was born at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., the eldest son of Emory Tate, a United States Air Force veteran and chess Grandmaster who was among the strongest African-American players of his generation. Emory Tate died in 2015.
He taught his son the game young, before the boy could properly read the board. Tate has credited it with the way he came to approach competition: thinking several moves ahead, and accepting public defeat as part of learning.
His parents divorced in 1997, and his mother Eileen moved him and his younger brother Tristan from Indiana to Marsh Farm, a council estate in Luton, England.

The family had little money, and the two boys arrived with American accents in a town that was not theirs.
He attended Halyard High School and then Luton Sixth Form College, and began kickboxing in 2005 at the age of eighteen. He trained at Storm Gym in Luton under Amir Subasic, who had founded the gym in 1999 and named it after his own fight name. Subasic sponsored him early, before there was a professional record to justify it, and has remained his coach since. Tate has described the introduction in his own words: “Fate introduced me to Amir Subasic and history is made.”
He fought under the name King Cobra, training around the work that paid his bills. His earliest recorded professional fights date from 2007, and his first world title came in 2011, six years after he first walked into the gym.

Fight Record
He fought as King Cobra, out of Storm Gym in Luton, from 2005 until he retired in 2016, and again briefly in 2020 out of Bucharest. He fought orthodox, and competed across four divisions: middleweight, light heavyweight, light cruiserweight and cruiserweight.

Three of the four were ISKA full-contact titles. The fourth was an Enfusion world championship at 90 kg, fought under K-1 rules, which permit the low kick and the knee and reward a different kind of fighter. Tate holds world titles under both rulesets.

He fought Jean-Luc Benoît three times, and the sequence is the clearest record of how he developed. Benoît took a twelve-round decision in Muret in March 2011. Tate knocked him out in the eighth round in Luton that June, and beat him on points in France again in 2015.

Tate moved to Romania in 2017 and began building his businesses there.
He founded Hustler's University, an online community that taught copywriting, e-commerce and other ways to make money outside traditional employment, first through prerecorded video and later on a Discord server.
In 2022, New Era Learning LLC acquired Hustler's University and rebuilt it as The Real World, on its own dedicated platform, updated lessons, and an expanded team. It has since become one of the largest paid online learning communities in the world.
